Honoring the famous well-known hashtag around cyberspace , I premiere a new section on the blog.. Everything has its history and fashion is not going to be less, so I want to look back in the "stylist" world which, documenting myself , I can say that fashion history is really exciting.

The first period I want to talk about is “Belle Èpoque ". It started around late Nineteenth and early twentieth Century,  it was born in Paris and quickly spread to other countries, such as England. Social events are more common, requiring an image to designate oneselfs social position. In turn, each situation required a different outfit making women (of high society only) to be changed several times a day depending on the occasion .

The hallmark of this era was the "hourglass" figure (what it´s known as Edwardian body), which necessitates the use of corset. Flashy suits, full of laces, embroidery, ruffles… creating what it´s known as a "Bustle" figure. Emphasizing the puffy shoulders and high neck , leaving the neckline for the night. As characteristic accessories we find low hats with medium-large wing with many ornaments.

This time could be considered the "birth" of haute couture with Charles Frederick Worth, an englishman, who settled in Paris. He was the first to draw his designs while creating a new collection each year in order to increase his sales numbers.

Paul Poiret (disciple of Worth) brought the "Empire style" back, where women are liberated from corset , marking the line below the chest and thus providing the bra. Poiret was ahead of his time and revolutionized fashion with Arabic, oriental and Greek influences.

With the advent of I World War, more practical outfits characterized by the use of tailors jacket and skirt , are replacing the classic dress. These suits expose thereby the ankle and footwear. This change is considered the end of the "Belle Èpoque " welcoming the famous “Roaring '20s" emerged in the United States.
